Deako produces Plug-n-play modular light switches which gives the end consumer the freedom to personalize your lighting for your specific lifestyle.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing and analyzing the day to day accounting processes and interpreting financial data to make high level recommendations for the company. This position will also entail the research of and implementation of new processes that streamline the finance work flow. We are looking for well rounded and highly educated candidates for this position with a lot of room to grow in a high-growth startup environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advises on accounting and financial impacts of new or proposed transactions, quantifies opportunities and risks, and recommends solutions.
  • Act as a key technical accounting resource to the organization on areas of judgmental accounting matters including revenue recognition, inventory, and COGS.
  • Perform financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tasks covering both standard procedures and ad hoc requests. Prepares sophisticated financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes analytical projects given abstract project guidelines.
  • Prepare and analyze budget vs actual reporting as well as help manage the annual budget process
  • Assist with financial forecasting and modeling in a complex modeling environment
  • Strong GAAP knowledge of rules and regulations
  • Helps manage and coordinates the year-end audit and provide all necessary documents/support.
  • Other regulatory reporting including but not limited to business licensing, franchise tax, state tax, property tax, sales tax, use tax and all other reporting and taxes as they apply.
  • Implement process improvements where applicable
  • Ensure a smooth ERP transition
  • Implement and maintain a control environment for Deako
  • Coordinate the month-end close process and drive efficiency in the overall close process
  • Performs ad hoc analysis as needed at the discretion of management.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to the applicable reporting and procedural standards.
  • Ensure invoices along with required supporting documentation and payment are received and booked in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure complex accruals are correctly identified and correctly accrued monthly
  • Ensure compliance and maintain relationships with all outstanding loan agreements
  • Promote and maintain a positive working environment in alignment with Deako values

Job Qualifications

Minimum qualifications/skills include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or more in Finance/Accounting or any related field
  • 6+ years of work experience
  • Big 4 Accounting experience is highly valued
  • CPA is highly valued
  • Manufacturing/Distribution experience is preferred
  • Experience with ERP Systems and implementation
